one of the most in demand tracks from the >technique< album finally gets a full single release complete with re-fixes from prosumer and kruse & nuernberg. ernestos vocal fully lends itself to the prosumer soundsignature, his mix floats and weaves around ernestos vocal, peaking around his own chords before stripping things back to bare essentials and rebuilding like only he can. the kruse& nuernberg mix is hypnotic, percussive old school house music at its best. they take a small snippet of the vocal and build the groove relentlessly until the whole room is shaking. achim brandenburg aka prosumer lives in berlin where he is resident at panorama bar, weaving together the finest blend of soulful house sounds. an expert in classic chicago house and detroit techno, his first release was in 2004 on 240 volts, followed by playhouse and ostgut, where he released his debut album with murat tepeli in 2008. separately, hamburg based florian kruse & nils nûrnberg have created some of the most interesting deep house around in the past few years, with early highlights incl nils >caught a glimpse< on 8bit, and florians >love hurts< release on om records. since then, as solo producers, but more importantly together as kruse & nûrnberg they have climbed closer to the tree-top with their unique brand of mouth-watering underground house.

it was only a matter of time. two genre-defining artists together ... pop music and dance musics most famous arbiters of taste, collaborating at last. dj hells >u can dance< is an interpretation of an unreleased bryan ferry song, but its one that reflects a perfect melding of two distinct personalities, a record that sounds as if the voice and music were made for each other.
hell, of course, has been riding high on the success of >teufelswerk<, his masterpiece of a double album, a journey replete with fruitful experiments and club bombs. one that has yielded both massive hits and not a tiny bit of controversy along the way. ferry, meanwhile, has been as busy as ever—recording a new album, performing in places as far afield as siberia, opening up the cannes film festival ... basically just being bryan ferry.
and now here they are together ... it all started in 2006 when hell dropped in to meet ferry at his west london studio. at first they discussed hell remixing an old roxy music track, and then it turned into something else - something new (u can dance).
they had similar impressions of one another — hell: >i was impressed by his aura and his look.<, ferry: >he impressed us with his sophistication and charm.< fast forward a few years later, and hell is hard at work on teufelswerk and putting the finishing touches on the aforementioned song titled >u can dance<, a serpentine moroder-esque disco burner. with the help of old friend peter kruder, of kruder and dorfmeister fame, hell fashioned the song into a smoldering nine-minute highlight of the double disc set, in which ferry turns in a typically assured vocal performance.
ferry may seem like an unexpected fan of dance, but hes been going to clubs since he was a teenager, and in his lengthy career hes worked with legends such as nile rodgers of chic and david williams from michael jacksons band. >its always a pleasure to work with people from that genre, who follow a singular groove.<
the single follows in the wake of hells >the dj feat. p. diddy< which has won over floors and critics alike with its nearly 30-minute radio slave remix and fine work from the likes of deetron, jay haze and others. on >u can dance< hell and ferry have similarly pulled out all the stops for the remixes, gathering up work from the grammy-nominated producer carl craig, dfa mainstay tim goldsworthy and pop electro superstars simian mobile disco.

dubsided continue to release bass heavy electro house, and we welcome the follow up ep to sticky ks previous dubsided release. california ep is a wonky 4 tracker stacked with all the right elements and surprising hooks. check out the mad vocal drops in 4 minutes into california, cheeky and a little barmy.

since his last release on circus company (fleurette ccs033), djulz add been quite busy in the sutdio. he did a lot of remixes for slam on soma, matthew dear on get physical, 2000 & one on 100%, arnaud le texier on 20:20 vision and spencer parker on rekids. hes now back with a freshly baked 3 tracker called rotondo. thats also the track title of the a side. rotondo is techy and slightly dark. there you feel a constant pressure that will leeds you to euphoric pad which is just a simple saxophone screaming sample. on the b side we are getting into some naïve and housy feeling with on the road. then ideas are fishes is closing down the record on catchy vocal hook. that king of track to keep the party rolling. once again d julz delivers some great cuts that should be soon on rotondo everywhere

the second half of the great lengths remixes package offers 3 more vividly contrasting interpretations of album tracks. almost a year on from the release of his debut album >one< and with >saviour of techno< plaudits still bouncing off concrete walls, berghain lynchpin ben klock turns in a remix of is this insanity that distills everything inspirational about both the club and city he calls home. spaceapes cracked vocal is welded to a sort of cavernous piston driven groove while traces of the originals melody fractured into the briefest of shards fight their way to the surface only to sink back into the percussive smog. located well outside of the heavily scrutinised uk hype centres, manchesters rising star illum sphere continues to hone his already distinct sound on the flipsides brilliant orange reworking. a clanking off kilter groove rubs up against an extended mutation of the original melody that pushes the track towards a poignant climax, evoking all the ache of reaching for the stars and landing squarely on ones face.

rotating assembly is a band put together by theo parrish. this loose detroit outfit evolves around 21 people, who exchange talents and energy. all tracks are written and produced and masterminded by theo parrish, who has given them his (sound) signature sound a true sound signature release. artists included in the band are: genevieve (known for vocals with recloose), maat lo (aka billy lo), marcellus pittman (recorded/djs for/with 3 chairs), rick wilhite (3 chairs), warren harris (recorded with dan curtin), andres. also newcomers such as karen bosco (most vocals) john dougalas (trumpet), king sunshine & trent mitchell (double bass) put in incredible effort to make this release a top sound signature title. from the laidback vocal tune naturally to the instrumental emotions of melt its all there to make this album an allround one. from strength to strength, theo parrish takes it to the next level, once again. the first 12 inch comes with an exclusive instrumental mix of melt.

>sweet devil< by pirupa & pigi might be their best work to date. its a full on detroit tech house banger with a very catchy vocal hook on it. this one grows with each listen and whats even better is - it really works in the clubs!
>sax on wax< by sabb & s. elezi is a delicious slice of deephouse with sax snippets and a solid, deep groove. perfect for the warm-up hours but will also work a treat for the late-night morning sessions.
once again a standout 2 tracker on nm2. close your eyes and use your ears.

okains dj career kicked off back in 1999, when at the tender age of 15 he began spinning regularly at parties. influenced by french legend laurent garnier, it wasnt long before he was offered his first residency. since then, he has gone on to play at the hottest of paris nightspots, including the rex club and social club. through playing at the now famous dimuschi parties he teamed up with paul ritch. after some time studying in sound engineering, the pair released their first ep under their handycraft alias on kickboxer. since the success of that >le bal masque< ep, okain has gone on to release on labels including robotronic, bpitch control, four twenty, tsuba, quartz and of course jetaime, and has been fully blooded in the art of touring. gigs have flooded in, and his travels have seen play many of europe s finest nightspots. his >blackrock< ep on quartz earlier this year found fantastic success with so many of you, and today our good friend is back, with the awesome >acrobat<.
the original sees okain take the warm, techy path. a lo-slung groove leads us into the melodic strings. matched with sharp efx, strong beats and a demonic laugh, this is a sure fire winner. first on remix duty is label head alex dee. toughening proceedings, alex creates a driving, somewhat tribal work out. relentless beats work brilliantly with the now chopped vocal, to create dramatic tension that builds to a crescendo in the break. a fantastic mix. a great package already, and one that just got even better with the edition of daniel mehlharts incredible rework. the frankfurt producer is hot property right now, and this mix showcases perfectly just why. deep, warm and moody, with huge helpings of classic detroit touches, the originals strings are accompanied by weighty synth stabs, to stunning effect. essential.

metroline limited catches sonotheque pimping it. beautiful, rich synths and brass move right through this ep, bubbling through nice solid house grooves and soulful vocal cuts. >sugarblues< is the kind of house cut that technoheads go nuts for, with the loose, fluid structure of carl craig, the bump and grind of dj sneak and a smooth-as-a-babys-bottom sax line that runs the length of the track.

hailing from sao paulo, wehbba is one of the latest additions to brazils techno ambassadors. having contributed heavily to tronic in 2009 with an ep and his acclaimed rework of jim rivers full tilt track, wehbba is headlining the inaugural tronic treatment compilation to be released in february. wehbbas talent as a dj / producer have taken him on a worldwide journey that has seen his powerful, rhythmical and emotive productions appear on some of the scenes most influential labels including global underground, get physical, great stuff, audio therapy and urbr.
sweet spot sees wehbba push a housier sound from previous work, focusing on swaying beats and a deep-edged ambience. the sweeter mix toughens the groove and takes the track into more late-night territory.
brother keeps the vibe of the ep on a deeper tip to complete this fresh sounding ep. centered on an epic groove of building chords and sweeping vocal refrain the dancefloor punch comes from a heavy pulsing bassline.

very sweet, latin fused house track with a beautiful accoustic guitar melody and blaze like vocal harmonies!

sometimes i feel is superb combination of solid percussion, filtered house backdrops of melodic synths chords and bumping bass, and a strong female vocal, making this a surefire peaktime pleaser. pick of the 3 takes here is the wild pitch vocal version, a stellar floor burner with some great added string arrangements alongside thumping house beats, a bumping bassline, and champagnes anthemic vocal track.

alfred azzetto the italian gigolo of house music teams up with vincent valler to present his new masterpiece dotted with a piano filled groove that reminds the early house sound with the 2010 touch of mr. azzetto and mr. valler. including alfreds near the ocean feat robin s. with the unreleased ii moods remixes - a must have remix to complete the package. thats house!

deep a & biri have been involved in the tel aviv house scene for some time. with this 3 track ep plus digital bonus track they give their debut now.
>twisted tango< is the most stripped down of all three tracks and a real cool groover. one of these tracks that grow enormously with volume and space. these two guys have got a good vision of how dance music should be to clad the clubbers in cotton batting. their cool way of transmitting indifference has always been the carrier of sensuality and sexiness in entertainment and it does create a certain kind of peppermint stench here. the vocals stabs in this one work like dubby elements which deep a & biri drop like things dropping out of your pocket.
>mischievous< is a perfect bassline monster... deep and heavy with a genius >pam pam< vocal stab. we dont know where these samples come from but they are luscious as hell. welcome to the pleasure dome!
>hine gama< is as cool as the two other tracks but but a little more laissez-faire fair. we dont think that anybody will be able to resist this bright light brown colour it shows with all its reflections of intensive sunbeams shining in.
this release fits perfectly to the last release on trapez ltd.
